Dua Lipa is an English singer and songwriter. Her single ‘One Kiss’ was released in April. In 2018 ranks at number one in the UK confirmed longest-running number-one single for a female artist in 2018. Through this song, Dua Lipa also won her Brit Award for the song of the year.

Early Life

She was born on  22nd August 1995  in London & she is of Muslim background. Her father’s name is Dukagjin Lipa. Marketing manager and a lead vocalist in the Kosovar rock Band oda. Her mother’s name is Anesa Lipa. A tourism employee by profession. She has a younger sister named Rina and a younger brother named Gjin. 

She has completed her primary school education in Mileniumi i Trete ( Third Millennium) School in Pristina. Pristina is the capital of Kosovo Second largest  Alabanian speaking city in Europe. Along with her school education, she parallelly joined Sylvia Young Theatre School in Part-time. She became a fan of a  Hip  Hop artist which influenced her to pursue her career in music.

Career

From a very young age, she started posting YouTube covers of her favourite artists. Interview She has accepted in an interview that she has been influenced very much by the discovery of Justin Bieber on YouTube.The month of August 2015  she released her first single ‘New Love’ & her second single ‘Be The One’ ranks at no one in Belgium, Poland & Slovakia.Her first world tour in the UK & Europe beginning in January 2016.

In the month of Feb 2016, she released her third single ‘Last Dance’ & it ranks at number fifteen in the UK. Next album she released named ‘Blow your Mind’ which ranks at 30th in the UK. The song also became her first Entry in the UK  Billboard hot 100 & rank at number 72.  Next year in January 2017, she received the ‘EBBA’ Public Choice Award. The European Border Breakers Award.  At the same time, she also releases her next album ‘Scared to be lonely’ which ranks no fourteen in the UK. 

Her self titled debut album was released in the month of June 2017.The sixth single of the album ‘New Rules’ in the next month & it becomes her first number one in the UK. She also became the first female artist to reach the top in the UK in 2015.

The same year in the month of December she becomes the most-streamed woman of 2017 in the UK by Spotify. In April 2018 she released the single ‘One Kiss’ with record producer Calvin Harris which became the biggest selling song in the UK of 2018. In May 2018 American singer and songwriter Clairo announced a tour throughout North America which was opening for her.

In March 2020 she released her second studio album Future Nostalgia & the single of the same album named ‘Physical’ ranks at number 60 on the US Billboard hot Hundred. The third single of the same album ‘Break My Heart’ ranks at number two in the official UK Albums chart. American singer and songwriter Gwen Stefani was featured on a remix by British American DJ & songwriter Mark Ronson of her song “Physical”.

The same year in the month of August she released a remix of ‘Levitating’ with the American artists ‘Madonna’ & ‘Missy Elliott’.In the month of November 2020, she released the ‘Prisoner’ from the second single of Miley Cyrus seventh studio album ‘Plastic Hearts’. She has always been an inspiration to Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae’s which she has expressed in many media channels & interviews. Her music has been compared with so many singers along with American singer-songwriter Ava Max. She is deeply influenced by American singer & songwriter Beyonce.

Social Responsibility

 In the month of November 2018,  She was the part of the Champaign recognised by UNICEF ‘Go Blue’ for the support of children’s rights on the occasion of World Children’s Day along with the celebrities like Orlando Bloom, Liam Nesson & Lilly Singh. They record the lyrics of ‘Be The One’ & change the word ‘red’ to ‘Blue’ in the song.

In the month of November 2019, in the Albania Earthquake, she asked fans for support & donation for raised funds for the victims affected by the Earthquake. In the month of May 2020, she participated in a digital event called ‘Dream with us’ that helps fight the disease of Covid-19.
