In 1945 On the 24th of July, Mr Azim Hasim Premji was born in Mumbai to a Muslim family.

His father was a well-known businessman Md Hashim Premji.

In 1966 he took charge of his father’s Led company “Western Indian vegetable Products Pvt Ltd” Which is now Wipro.

Later on, he diversified his company into a different IT industry. 

In the early years of 1980, when the world gradually increased in demand in the information technology sector. He then started dealing with Bakery fats, Toiletries products, hair soap, and hydraulic cylinders.

He changed his company name to “Wipro” from “Western Indian vegetable Products Pvt Ltd” and started giving IT services.

He tied up with an American company sentinel And started manufacturing minicomputers.

He married Yasmeen, and the couple has two children.

Rishad Premji, who is Now Chief Strategy officer of IT at Wipro. 

And his younger son Tariq Premji is a board member of the Wipro company.

In the year 2000, He got an honourable doctorate from the Manipal Academy Of Higher Education.

He established the Azim Premji Foundation In 2001.

He donated $2 Billion For improvement in school education in India 

He established a university by his self-name Azim Premji University in the year 2010 Karnataka. It is a non-profit organization and is funded by the Azim Premji Foundation.

It works towards primary education all over India. The university ranks 201st in India and 7014 globally.

He also got Padma Bhushan in 2011 from the Indian government for continuous service in the same industry.
