She was born in Saginaw city in the U.S.State of Michigan on 26th September 1981. Her father’s name is Richard Dove Williams Jr & her mother Oracene Price both are American tennis coaches.

Her parents homeschooled her with her sister, Venus. When she was nine years old her family moved from Compton to West Palm Beach Florida so that she could attend the tennis academy of American tennis coach Rick Macci.

Career

Her first professional tournament was in October 1995 at the National Bank Cup in Quebec, Canada. She lost in the first round of qualifying to the American player Annie Miller. The highest-ranked Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has also won against her.

In 1998 at The Sydney International she defeated No. 3 Davenport in the quarterfinals.
