In early 2018, he started singing on the ITF Men’s Circuit & notched his first ATP Masters win at the Italian Open 2018 against Steve Johnson and broke into the top 200 with his next ATP. He defeated Goffin again as well as US Open 2020 runner-up and  Alexander Zverev before losing to Rafael Nadal. At the 2022 Australian Open he reached the quarterfinals in the last eight in Melbourne after Matteo Berrettini who reached the same level of the tournament the previous day.
