Who is Morgan Wallen?

He is an American singer and songwriter whose second studio album Dangerous: The Double Album in February 2021 becomes the only country album in the 64 years history of the Billboard 200 to spend its first eleven weeks at the number one position. 

Early life

He was born on 13th May 1993 in Sneedville, a city in the County seat of Hancock County, Tennessee in the south-eastern part of the United States. His father Tommy Wallen & mother Lesli wallen give him the training of piano and violin lessons since his childhood. 

Career

In 2015 he signed to Panacea Records, an independent record label company founded by Bill Ray & Paul Trust in 1993. He released an extended play (EP) “Stand Alone” on 24th August 2015. His first debut single under the Panacea Records  “Spin You Around” was certified Gold by this recording industry Association of America (RIAA) on 21st April 2021. 

Next year in 2016 he signed to Big Loud, an American independent multi-sector entertainment company based in Nashville. Under the company, he released his debut single “The Way I Talk”.Next year in April month he also released a music video of this single. 

“If I Know Me” his debut album released on 27th April 2018. The second single of the album “Up Down” ranks at the number sixteen on a billboard. The third single of the album “Whiskey Glasses” which was released on 30th July 2018 ranks at number one on country airplay in June 2019. The Song also became the Top hot country song of Billboard 2019. In August 2020 “If I Know Me” reached number one Top Country Albums chart after a record-breaking 114 weeks.

On 14th August 2020, he released the song “7 Summers”.The song makes the record of the biggest first-day streams for a country song on Apple music. It receives 4.6 million streams and ranks at number three on the Global Apple Music chart. American news magazine Times magazine also chooses this song as the Best song of 2020. 

“Dangerous: The Double Album” ranks at the top position on the US Billboard 200 along with the Canadian album chart. It remains in the top position for four consecutive weeks. It also makes the album from a country artist to do that since  American Singer-songwriter Garth Brooks’s fifth studio album “The Chase” in 1992. He soon becomes the first artist to having chart six songs within the top 10 of Hot country songs.

He also charted twenty-three songs from the album on the Canadian Hot 100 & other nineteen tracks on the U.S hot 100 including the “Cover Me Up” & “This Bar”. On 13th  February 2021, he ranks on the top of the Billboard chart. His debut album “If I Know Me” entered into the top ten for the first time. In the next week, Dangerous: The Double Album” remains number one on the Billboard 200. After this Success he spent the most weeks on top of the chart for a male artist since Canadian singer Drake’s fourth Studio album “Views” in 2016.
