Mark Zuckerberg is the founder of the Social media platform Facebook and serves as a  Chairman and chief executive officer. Apart from Facebook, he is also a co-founder of Solar sails which is a spacecraft development project.

In 2007 at the age of twenty-three, he becomes the World’s youngest billionaire. According to the real-time data of Forbes which was released on 24th May 2021 he is the fifth wealthiest person in the world.

American news magazine and news website Time Magazine have listed his name as the Hundred most influential people in the world since 2007. In December 2016  he was ranked in 10th position on the Forbes list of the world’s most powerful people.

Early Life

He was born on 14th May 1984 in Westchester county white plains, New York, United States of America. His father Edward  Zuckerberg a dentist and his mother Karen is a psychiatrist. He has three sisters Randi Jayne, Donna, and Arielle Zuckerberg.

After two years of study in Ardsley High School, he transferred to Phillips Exeter Academy where he won prizes in mathematics, astronomy, physics, and classical studies. He started his studies at Harvard in the year 2002. He studied Psychology & Computer science.

Career

On 4th February 2004, he launched “Thefacebook,“. He dropped out of Harvard to complete his project of Facebook. Then he moved to Palo Alto, California in Silicon Valley southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. Where he leased a small house that served as an office.

On 6th November 2007, he announced Beacon, is a  social advertising system that provides people to share information with their Facebook friends based on their browsing activities on other sites.

A movie based on him and starting years of Facebook released on 1st October 2010 acted by American actor Jesse Eisenberg movie named  The Social Network.

On 1st October 2012, he visited Russian Prime Minister  Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow to expand the Social media in Russia to boost Facebook Position. In that same year, Facebook had approximately 9 million users in Russia.

Next year on  6th April 2013 Facebook heads of consumer marketing Rebecca Van Dyck Claim that there are 85 million American Facebook users were found on the first day of the Home promotional campaign.

After that, he met with American business magnate investor and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos & Tim Cook the Chief Executive officer of Apple at Facebook’s headquarters on 8th December 2014.

In June 2016 American financial and business news website “Business Insider” enlisted his name as one of the “Top 10 Business Visionaries Creating Value for the World” along with the CEO and chief engineer of Tesla Elon Musk.

In January 2019  he made a plan for integration of business with three major social media platform American photo and video sharing Social network Instagram and American freeware cross-platform WhatsApp along with Facebook.

On 14th August 2020 Facebook integrated the chat systems for Instagram and Messenger on both iOS and Android devices which can cross-communicate between Instagram and Facebook users.

Social Responsibility of Mark Zuckerberg

On 9th December 2010 American business magnet, software developer Bill Gates & American Business tycoon and philanthropist Warren Buffett along with him has signed The Giving Pledge. It is a campaign to Motivate the world wealthiest people to contribute the maximum part of their wealth for Philanthropic purpose.

In October 2014  he along with his wife has donated $ 25 million (Rs 1,82.13 Cr) for rescue in the Ebola virus disease in West Africa.

On 1st December 2015, he has promised that over his lifetime period he will transfer 99% of Facebook share to The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative the approximate value would be $ 45 billion (Rs 32,78,46.37 Cr). This new organisation works on Health and education.

For the covid-19 pandemic, he has donated $ 25 million (Rs 1,82.13 Cr) To the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Personal Life

 He met with his future wife Priscilla Chan a Harvard student  American former paediatrician and philanthropist. They started their relationship in 2003. They married on 19th May 2012. On 1st December 2015, he announced that they have given birth to a daughter named Maxima Chan Zuckerberg. In August 2017  they gave birth their second daughter named August Zuckerberg.
