As an actor, he is well known for his role as Tej Parker in the Fast & Furious movie series with his first appearance in the franchise coming in 2002. Early Life

He was born in Champaign County, Illinois in the mid-western area of the United States. He was born on 11th September 1977. His mother’s name Roberta Shields & father Wayne Brian Bridges. At the age of nine, he moved to  Chicago with his family where he attended Emerson Middle School in Oak Park. After some time they again shifted to Centreville, Virginia. There he attended Centreville High School  & then Banneker High School in Atlanta, Georgia. From there he completed his graduation in 1995. After that, he studied music management at Georgia State University.

He released his major-label debut in 2000 Back for the First Time. The album reached number four on the U.S.Billboard 200.His second album released in 2001 Word of Mouf. The video for the lead single “Rollout” nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award.

After a small gap of one year, he released his next single “Stand Up“. Produced by American rapper Kanye West, the single becomes one of the biggest mainstream hits to date of his career. Reached the top rank on The Billboard Hot 100. The album next single released in 2004. It becomes a hit on urban radio and BET. 

In 2006 his next album released Release Therapy & it won the best rap album award at the 2007 Grammy Award. After then his album reached number one on the Billboard 200 album charts with sales of 309,000 in its first week. In 2008  American rapper songwriter Chris Brown performs in a guest appearance on his single “What Them Girls Like”.

In 2013 he repeats his character of  Tej in the blockbuster movie Fast & Furious series. Furious 7 in 2017 and The Fate of the Furious in 2017. He performs his character with the other star cast of the movie such as Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez and others.

His upcoming movie is F9 directed by Justin Lin. The movie is going to be released in the united states on 25th June 2021. In this movie, he performs along with actor Vin Diesel, The American actress Michelle Rodriguez has performed the character of Letty Ortiz. The American rapper-actor Tyrese Gibson also perform in the movie. American WWE Champion John Cena has also performed in the movie as the character of Jakob Toretto. Jordana Brewster also performs with the star cast of the movie & the character of Ramsey in the movie played by the English actress Nathalie Emmanuel.

He is the founder of his own record label, Disturbing Tha Peace along with co-owner of Conjure Cognac liquor. In 2006 he also appeared in a television campaign for German multinational athletic footwear manufacturer Puma. American singer & songwriter KennyHoopla praised him very much & he is always his inspiration.

Personal Life

He was in a relationship with an attorney from Atlanta. They have a daughter named Karma Bridges who was born in August 2001. He also dated model Eudoxie Mbouguiengue they have also a daughter Cai Bella Bridges who was born in December 2013. The couple got married  In Costa Rica on  26th December  2014.
