He is an American actor who becomes an international celebrity after his performance in the  Canadian born film director’s American epic science fiction movie Avatar playing the Tsu’tey. In another movie, he performs his memorable character of Fenix Calderon in the American action movie Fast & Furious in the year 2009. Laz Alonso also becomes part of Amazon Prime Video’s original series The Boyson the comic book series of the same name playing the character of “mm”. 

Early Life

He was born on 25th March 1974 in Washington, D.C. in the United States. He was born and raised in the United States, but he has Cuban ancestry. He graduated from the Howard University School of Business, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with marketing. After that, he also worked as an investment banker on Wall Street.

He is a proud Christian and his faith has helped guide him through the ups and downs of his career. He told Jet magazine, that  “God has never let me down.

 He started his acting career by hosting shows on the American cable television channel named BET. After that he has performed so many supporting roles in films such as the American dance drama movie Stomp the Yard, the American drama movie Down for Life, in 2003 American horror slasher movie Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood and so many.

In 2009 he played the character of Fenix Calderon, the main antagonist in the  American action movie film  Fast & Furious. Directed by the Taiwanese-born American director Justin Lin with a production budget of $ 85 million (Rs 6,34.05 Cr). The movie had the sixth-biggest opening weekend of that year & it collected $363.2 million (Rs 27,09.37 Cr) worldwide.

He also performs as one of the lead characters in the 2011 TV series Breakout Kings.

With over twenty years of working experience as an actor he has shown us the ability to play a wide range of roles and he has become a successful professional actor on both the big and small screens.

His upcoming movie is Wrath of Man which is going to be released on 7th May 2021 in the United States. He performs the character of Carlos. He won an Emmy Award which led him to star in notable films including, Apart from this he has won Emmy Award for his amazing performance in the movie such as Fast and Furious, Avatar.
