Early Life

He was born on 15th December  1971 in Chandigarh in the State of Punjab India. His father is a great Indian Olympic athlete Milkha Singh & his father Nirmal Kaur is a former captain of the Indian Valley ball team. He attended the Abilene Christian University in the United States & has completed his degree in Business & International Studies in 1996.

Career

Professionally he won his first tournament in the  1993 Southern Oklahoma State Open. In the year 1997, he finished in seventh position on the European Tour. In 2006 he won the “Volvo China Open” Which is a men’s golf tournament held annually in China. After this achievement, he becomes the second Indian after Arjun Atwal to win European Tour. He finished the year 2006 with The Asian Tour Winning. After this winning, he becomes the first Indian to come into the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking.

The next year 2007 he also becomes the first Indian Golfer to participate in the Masters’ Tournaments. It is one of the four major championships held in the month of April every year in the Augusta National Golf Club. In August 2008 he achieves the highest ranking as an Indian in any major event at the 2008 PGA Champions in Oakland Hills. He achieves the rank T9. He also becomes India’s best golfer. Next year in 2009 he played in the WGC-CA Championships & finished the tournament in the 4th position. Anirban Lahiri played his first master’s campaign in 2015 making him only the second Indian Golfer to do the same after Him.

Personal Life

He married to Ms Kudrat in the year 2008 & the couple gave birth to their beautiful son Harjai in the year 2010.
