He becomes a well-known actor in the public eyes is since he has played  Andrew “Combo” Gascoigne in the film This Is England (2006) and his television sequels This Is England ’86 (2010). He has also performed in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014), as Jacob Marley in the BBC/FX miniseries A Christmas Carol (2018), and as DCI Taff Jones in the ITV miniseries White House Farm (2020).

Early Life

He was born on 3rd August 1973 in Kirkby, is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, England. He was encouraged to pursue an acting career at the age of eight by local actor Andrew Schofield, who had seen him perform as Jim Hawkins in a school production of Treasure Island. He studied at Ruffwood Comprehensive and later trained at the Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Performance.


He has played characters of Cockney, Welsh, Geordie, Scouse and Scottish, as well as an Irish gang member in 19th-century New York City, a 1930s Chicago bank robber, a Brooklyn mobster, a Texan.

He then performed in  “When the Sun Goes Down” directed by American actor, producer, and musician Johnny Depp, and Gazelle’s single “Finger on the Trigger”. He also appeared in the music video “Soul Vampire” by Macclesfield-based neo-psychedelic band The Virginmarys, and the music video for “Turn” by Travis, also Kasabian’s video “You’re in Love with a Psycho”. 

In November 2019, he was the guest for BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs. Despite his long-standing reputation for his ability to adopt different accents, several critics criticised his performance and stated that his Welsh accent was inauthentic.

His next movie is the Marvel Comics character Venom in the sequel “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”. Where He would perform as a Mulligan. American actor Reid Scott would perform the character of Dan Lewis: A doctor and Anne’s fiancé. Along with English actor, Tom Hardy & American actress Michelle Williams performed as Anne Weying. Naomie Harris, the English actress also would perform in the movie as  Frances Barrison / Shriek with her countryman  & American actor Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady. The movie would be released in the United States on 15th October 2021.
