Early life

She was born on 22nd July 1992 in Grand Prairie, City in Dallas county, Texas, United States. Her father Ricardo Joel Gomez & mother Amanda Dawn “Mandy” Cornett a former stage actress. She has completed her High School diploma from homeschooling in 2010. Her interest in pursuing a career in entertainment has grown by watching her mother prepare for stage productions. She started giving auditions for various roles and met with Singer-songwriter Demi Lovato during an audition for the American children’s television series “Barney & Friends”.

Career

She later auditioned for a role in the American fantasy teen sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place”. After the successful audition, she secured her role as a lead character of Alex Russo. In a very short time, the series becomes a hit for the Disney Channel which give her more success and achievement. Later on, she got a lead role in the American teen musical comedy movie “Another Cinderella Story” as a character of aspiring dancer Mary Santiago.

At the age of sixteen, she signed the American record label company “Hollywood Records”.On 28th August 2009, she performed in the American Television comedy-drama Fantasy movie based on the Disney Channel original series “Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie”.The movie won the series its second consecutive Emmy for “Outstanding Children’s Program” at the 62nd “Primetime Emmy Awards”.She formed a pop-rock band “Selena Gomez & the Scene” under her record deal with Hollywood Records. In 2012 in the American computer-animated Comedy movie “Hotel Transylvania” she selected for a role replacing  American Singer, songwriter and actress Miley Cyrus. It was released on 25th October 2017.

In 2008 she dated American singer-songwriter, Nick Jonas. In 2010 she started dating Canadian singer Justin Bieber, they become separated in January 2013.
