Early Life
She was born Kate Garry Hudson on 19th April 1979, in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn and her father Bill Hudson, who is an actor, comedian, and musician. She took admitted to New York University but finally pursued an acting career and then a college degree.
Acting Career
Her first roles came in 1996 when she made her TV debut on the Fox TV series Party of Five (1994-2000). Along with that, she appeared in one episode titled “Spring Breaks: Part 1”, this experience was enough to hold her determination to develop a professional acting career of her own. Her film debut was in “Desert Blue” in 1998. But it wasn’t until 1999 that she started to attract public attention when critics started stating about her brilliant performance of Cindy in “200 Cigarettes”, even though the movie itself was a commercial disappointment.
She received awards for supporting roles in “Gossip” and “Dr T and the Women” which both were released in 2000.It was then her performance in Cameron Crowe’s 2001 film “Almost Famous” that proved she was set to follow in her mother’s footsteps in taking the film industry by storm.Â
In a schedule of fashion shoots and awards shows, she made an appearance in the romantic war drama opposite Heath Ledger in “The Four Feathers”, in 2002. In July 2013, Kate and her two partners, Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg co-founded a subscription athleisure company called Fabletics. Over time the company would grow from being primarily e-commerce based, to operating 22 retail stores. According to a 2017 Forbes article, the company was at one point valued at $250 million (INR 20,65.02 Cr). It’s believed that she owned 20% of the company at that point. Assuming the $250 million (INR 20,65.02 Cr) has been held, her pre-tax stake was worth $50 million (INR 4,13.00 Cr).
In 2020 Fabletics crossed $500 million (INR 41,30.07 Cr) in revenue. Her co-founders, Ressler and Goldenberg, operate Fabletics’ parent company TechStyle Fashion Group.
