Early Life

He was born on 7th July in 2000. He was born in Edappal, Karela. Edappal is a city in the Malappuram district of Kerala state of India. His family moved from Hyderabad to Bangalore in the year 2011. His father’s name is Babunu Kunnath, who is a businessman by profession and mother Ambili Balan Padikkal is a housewife. He has a sister named Chandni Padikkal. She is a lawyer by profession.

Career

After moving to Bangalore with his family in the year 2011 he started training at the Karnataka Institute of Cricket. After three years in 2014, he started representing Karnataka in the U-16 & U-19 age category. In 2017 he was selected for the Bellary Tuskers in the Karnataka premier league. Bellary Tuskers is the Twenty20 franchise of Karnataka Premier League. 

Ranji Trophy in 2018-19 he made his first-class Cricket debut for Karnataka in the month of November. 

The same year in the month of December he got the opportunity to play in the IPL for “Royal Challengers Bangalore” in the year 2019. He also became the first player in the  IPL history to score three fifties in his first four matches.

He also made his One Day International cricket (ODI) debut for Karnataka in September 2019 in Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2019-20 season. He was also the topmost run scorer throughout the season with 609 runs in eleven matches. Apart from this, He has received the Best Batsman Award and promoted to the senior team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

He made his 58 runs in the opening game of the Vijay Hazare Trophy against the Jharkhand. After this, he made his unbeaten century against Saurashtra against  Goa.

The same year in the month of October he was selected for the National Cricket Team of India in Deodhar Trophy for the 2019-20 season. 

He made his Twenty20 debut on 4th November 2019  for Karnataka in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for the session 2019-20.

He received the Emerging player award 2020 in  Indian Premier League playing for his team “Royal Challengers Bangalore”. He has the record of 473 runs in fifteen matches for his team “Royal Challengers Bangalore” in his debut IPL season.
