Early Life
She was born on 31st May 2001 in Warsaw to her parents Dorota and Tomasz Świątek. Her father’s name is Tomasz Świątek & mother’s name is Dorota Świątek who is an orthodontist.
Career
In 2018 She won all seven ITF singles finals she reached, ranging from the first four at the $10K (Rs 7.37 Lacs) to $15K (Rs 11.05 Lacs) level to one at the $25K (Rs 18.42 Lacs) level followed up by two at the $60K (Rs 44.22 lacs) level.
She made her first WTA breakthrough at the Ladies Open Lugano in April. During the event, she upset No. 3 seed Viktoria Kuzmova in the second round for her first top 50 victory.
She could not repeat her French Open success at the remaining Grand Slam events of the year, losing her opening match at Wimbledon and in the second round at the US Open. Her best result in the second half of the season was a third-round appearance at the Canadian Open. During the event, she upset No. 18 Danish former professional Caroline Wozniacki before losing to No. 2 Japanese professional Naomi Osaka.
She made her return to the WTA Tour at the 2020 Australian Open. She matched her best result at a Grand Slam tournament with another fourth-round appearance, this time she won over No. 20, Croatian professional Donna Vekić. She continued her Grand Slam success once the tour resumed. She reached the third round at the US Open, losing to eventual runner-up Belarusian Victoria Azarenka. At the 2021 Australian Open, Śhe was seeded 15th and recorded wins over Dutch Arantxa Rus, Italian professional Camila Giorgi and French professional tennis player Fiona Ferro. She reached the fourth round where she lost to Simona Halep in three sets.
She won her first career WTA 1000-title at the Italian Open, defeating former champion Karolína Plíšková, 6–0, 6–0, in just 46 minutes. She defeated Ukrainian professional Elina Svitolina, and the second best-ranked teenager American tennis player Coco Gauff on the same day, as well as saving match points in her third-round match against Czech professional Barbora Krejčíková. She became the third player to win a title after saving match point en route in 2021, along with Naomi Osaka at the Australian Open and Australian professional tennis player Ashleigh Barty in Miami.
