Early Life
He was born on 15th September 1977 in the Hammersmith district of London. The only child of his paren. He studied at Tower House School & later on at the Reed’s School. After the school education, he took his admission at the Duff Miller Sixth Form College for further studies and after that, he later studied at Richmond Drama School and the Drama Centre London.
Career
In 1998, he won The Big Breakfast’s Find Me a Supermodel competition at the age of 21, which earned him a brief contract with Models 1. He joined Drama Centre London in September 1998 and was taken out early after winning the part of US Army Private John Janovec in the HBO-BBC mini-series Band of Brothers. He made his feature film debut in Ridley Scott’s war thriller Black Hawk Down (2001). In 2007, he played a fictional character of Bill Sikes in the BBC mini-series Oliver Twist.
In June 2009, Hardy starred in a British crime writer, businesswoman and occasional television presenter Martina Cole’s four-part TV drama The Take on Sky One, as a drug and alcohol-fuelled gangster. In August 2009, he appeared in ITV’s Wuthering Heights, playing the role of Heathcliff. In early 2010, He starred in The Long Red Road at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago.
In 2014, he appeared in the crime film The Drop alongside American actor and producer James Gandolfini. He also joined the cast of the BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders in its second series. He performs the character of Alfie Solomons, the head of a Jewish gang and runner of a distillery that disguises itself as a bakery.
On 7th December 2015, He won Best Actor at the British Independent Film Awards for his portrayal of the Kray twins, On 14th January 2016, he received his first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Revenant.
In 2018, he starred in the film of American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom. Based on the Marvel source material, the film was released on 5th October and is the first instalment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. In 2019, he served as an executive producer in the 2019 BBC/FX three-part miniseries A Christmas Carol. In 2020, he performed in Josh Trank’s Al Capone biopic Capone. The other star cast of the movie is American actress Michelle Williams performs the character of Anne Weying, British actress Naomie Harris as Shriek, Stephen Graham as Mulligan, American actor Reid Scott as Dan Lewis & Woody Harrelson as Carnage.

He was married to producer Sarah Ward from 1999 to whom he divorced in 2004. He then met with assistant director Rachael Speed on the set of The Virgin Queen in 2005, and they had a son in April 2008. The next year they got separating in 2009. That year, he started a relationship with actress English actress Charlotte Riley after they met on the set of the 2009 two-part British ITV television series Wuthering Heights. They married in July 2014. They have two children; the first was born in October 2015 and the second, a son, who was born in December 2018.
