He is an American businessman a computer scientist and an internet entrepreneur. With American businessman and computer scientist, Larry Page & Sergey Brin co-founded Google. According to Forbes world’s billionaire’s list which was published on 24th May 2021, he is the Ninth wealthiest person in the world.

Early Life

He was born on 21st August 1973 in Moscow in The Soviet Union. His father Mikhail Brin is a retired mathematics professor at the University of Maryland & mother Eugenia Brin a researcher at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

He studied at  Montessori method of education in Adelphi, Maryland. Later on, he studied at the Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Greenbelt, Maryland. He completed his Bachelor of Science from the Department of Computer Science in 1993 from the University of Maryland. He started his graduate study at Stanford University with computer science & in 2008 he was on leave from his PhD studies at Stanford.

Career

During his study at Stanford University where he met with Larry Page & gradually they become a close friend. They both developed the PageRank algorithm. The algorithm used by google search to rank web pages in their search engine results. As their search engine started getting popular among the Stanford students & employees they needed an additional server. In 1996 the starting version of google was available on the Stanford Web site.

He was also an investor in the American electric car manufacturer Tesla which belongs to Elon Musk who is a business magnate & entrepreneur. In 2004 they both listed “Persons of the Week” by the weeknight broadcasts “ABC World News Tonight” in American space Tourism Company Space Adventures he invested $ 4.5 million (Rs 32.91 Cr) in 2008.

They combinedly purchased a wide-body airliner The Boeing 767  and a light attack jet The Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet. He was also been president of Google Parent company Alphabet Inc. He was stepping down on 3rd December 2019. They both remain as the co-founder of Alphabet, Shareholder and Employees.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) owned magazine “MIT Technology Review” listed them bot as one of the top 100 innovators in the world under the age of 35 in 2002.

Graduate and undergraduate Business School IE Business School located in Madrid Spain given them a master of Business Administration degree for the entrepreneurial spirit of new businesses in 2003.

The Guglielmo Marconi International Fellowship Foundation prize which is the highest award in engineering have given in 2004 at Columbia University.

The Academy of achievement is an American non-profit educational Foundation given them a Golden plate award In 2004.

American Business Magazine Forbes in 2009 decided to list their name as the fifth most powerful people in the world.

Personal life

He married Biotech analyst and entrepreneur Anne E.Wojcicki in May 2007. They have a son who was born in 2008 and a daughter who was born in 2011. In June 2015 they got separated.

In 2018 he married Legal Tech founder Nicole Shanahan and they give birth to their daughter in the same year.

After being divorced from his first wife Wojcicki they still run a charitable foundation name “The Brin Wojcicki Foundation”.They have donated $ 1 million (Rs 7.31 Cr) to the support of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
