Who is Snoh Aalegra?

She is one of the richest & most famous Swedish singers and songwriters based in Los Angeles.

Early Life

She was born on 13th September 1987 in Uppsala, which is the county seat and the fourth largest city in Sweden.

Career

In 2009 she started her musical career with the release of her debut single “Hit and Run” on 16th February 2009. The song reached number twelve on the Swedish Single chart. The same year on 4th December she released her second single “U Got Me Good” which reached number two on the “Swedish Single Chart”.

Next year on 6th April 2010 she released the studio album “First Sign”, on Universal Music Sweden under the name Sheri. 

In July 2014 she appeared on American rapper Common’s tenth studio album “Nobody’s Smiling” featuring the song “Hustle Harder”. She released her debut single “Bad Things” in October 2014 and her debut EP, “There Will Be Sunshine”, on 17th November 2014 under the American record label company-owned Sony music entertainment “Epic Records”.

On 11th February 2015, she released her first self-titled single “emotional” which was produced by American rapper RZA. She has also appeared on American rapper-singer Vincent Staples’s debut album “Summertime ’06” which was released on 30th June 2015. 

She released her EP “Don’t Explain” on 8th April 2016 with features and production from American singer-songwriter James Fauntleroy, American hip hop & R&B Music producer No I.D, Jamaican Canadian record producer Boi-1da, American born Nigerian Grammy-nominated production and DJ duo consisting of twins Kehinde Hassan and Taiwo Hassan and Ivorian-American DJ, songwriter DJ Dahi. 

She released her debut album “Feels”, on 20th October 2017 with features from Vincent Staples, American rapper singer-songwriter Vic Mensa, Logic & Swedish hip hop & Reggae artist Timbuktu. The album was a mixture of a nostalgic blend of soul and R&B.

On 12th September 2018, she released her single “Nothing Burns Like the Cold” produced by Christian Rich and featuring Vince Staples which was used by Apple for their iPhone XS  announcement video and commercials. Later on, in 2018 she organised her first North American tour for singer Mereba & and Leven Kali.

She released her second album, Ugh, Those Feels Again, on ARTium recordings. The album reached number three on the Billboard R&B Album sales chart & number seventy-three on Billboard 200 chart. The single “I Want You Around” reached number one on Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Produced by American rapper and record producer Swizz Beatz she recorded the song “Wolves Are Out Tonight” for the soundtrack to the 2019 American premium cable and satellite television network Epix’s television series “Godfather of Harlem”. She released the video of her single  “Whoa”, starring herself along with American actor and producer Michael B. Jordan on 13th December 2019. 

On 9th March 2020, it was announced that she has signed a recording contract with Roc Nation & Universal Music Group along with her current level  ARTium Records and released her first single through both labels “Dying 4 Your Love” on 10th July 2020.

She has back once again back with her new third album “Temporary Highs in the Violet Skies” Collaboration including Tyler, the Creator on the track on “Neon Peach” and “In The Moment, on 9th July 2021.

She has given the credit for influencing her sound including American singer and actress Whitney Houston, American singer and songwriter Brandy, Missy Elliott & Mariah Carey who have deeply influenced her singing voice.
