Early life
In the year 1995 on the day of 5th July, she was born in Hyderabad. Her father name is P.V. Ramana and her mother name is P. Vijaya.
She completed her schooling at Aux ilium High School which is in Hyderabad.
Thereafter she took admission in St.Ann’s College for women to complete his graduation in commerce.
And from the same college, she completed her Masters of Business Administration(M.B.A).

Started playing badminton at the age of eight Sindhu acquired basic knowledge And training of badminton from Mehboob Ali In Secunderabad. And later She joined Gopichand Badminton Academy. She entered the international level at the age of 14.
In 2011 she won the “Maldives International challenge” Against P.C. Thulasi.
In 2012 at Age of sixteen she qualified in the “All England Open Championship” but lost to Tai Tzu-Ying.
She also entered the semi-final in 2012 “London Olympic” by beating Li Xuerui But lost in the second round against Jiang Yanjiao of China.
In 2013 She qualified for the quarter-finals in the “Asian Championship” by beating Wang Shixian. But lost in the second round in 3 sets to Eriko Hirose of Japan.
But she managed to achieve Her career-high ranking of 15.
She won the “Malaysian title” in her first Grand Prix Gold title. by beating Gu Juan Of Singapore.
She also took part in “ World Championship 2013” which ended in a draw. But in the first round, she managed to beat Kaori Imabeppu of Japan and make all of us proud.
In April 2017 she achieved her career highest ranking of 2 by defeating Carolina Marin of Spain in the “Indian open super series”.
She ended the Championship in a draw with a bronze medal and “became the first Indian woman” and second Indian after Prakash Padukone who won the bronze medal.
In 2014 Sindhu qualified for the final in “Indian open Grand Prix Gold” but lost to Sinha Nehwal.
She also reached the semi-final in “Commonwealth games” 2014 in the Single category What lost to Canadian Michelle Li.
In the “world championship” 2014 which was organised in Denmark. She ended the Championship with a bronze medal and became the first Indian to win a bronze medal for the second time. In the 2015 World Championship, she defeated Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark in the first round. But in the quarter-final, she lost with Korean Sung Ji-Hyun.
In 2016 at the “Rio Olympic” She defeated Hungarian Laura Sarosi in the group stage match.
Later on in the tournament, she faced and managed to win against Japanese star Nozomi Okuhara in the semifinals.
But she finally lost to Carolina Marin of Spain and ended the tournament with silver. And with silver she also made history.
Become the first Indian Youngest female Indian athlete to Manage an Olympic silver medal from the Indian side.
And in the world championship 2017, she ended the tournament
She won the Silver medal and lost the tournament against Nozomi Okuhara In the final after fighting 110 minutes long and making it the Second longest women’s singles match in badminton history.
In the 2018 Commonwealth games, she won the gold in the mixed category and Silver in the singles. Same year American ace Zhang Beiwen won her first BWF World Tour title at the India Open. Defeating her in The Indian star badminton player loses to her in the final of the India Open.
And in the year-end she Qualified for “World tour finals” And this time she defeated Nozomi Okuhara and became the only Indian Badminton player to Hold the title at the year-end final.
In 2019 She Qualified for the “Indian National Badminton Championships”.She reached up to the final but lost to Saina Nehwal
But at the “World Championships” in 2019 Entered into the final by defeating Chen Yufei. And in the final, she faced Nozomi Okuhara.
Sindhu made her defeated in the final and became the first Indian to win gold at the “World Championships”.
In 2020 she was elected as the Brand Ambassador for the Badminton World Federation Committee’s campaign. In 2021 in the Swiss Open she lost to Spanish Carolina Marin in 21-12,21-5 in the final.
Personal life
As she is only 25 years of age and currently she is busy with brand endorsement and career commitment she has not got married yet. She has been an assistant sports manager in Bharat Petroleum in Hyderabad Since 2013. After winning a silver medal in the Rio Olympics, she was promoted to Deputy sports manager. She is also a brand ambassador of “Bridgestone India”. It is a Japanese multinational auto and truck parts manufacturing company.
She has also been appointed as a Deputy Collector by her own state Andhra Pradesh.
