She is an American Professional golfer who plays on the “The Ladies Professional Golf Association” (LPGA) tour. She was the youngest player ever to qualify in “The U.S. Women’s Open,” at twelve years of old. Along with this she also becomes the youngest player who wins (LPGA) tournament at the age of sixteen years & seven months. On 17th December 2011, she becomes the second-youngest player to win the “The Ladies European Tour”. After wins “The 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship” she becomes the second-youngest LPGA golfer to win a major Championship at the age of nineteen years & one month.
Early Life
She was born on 10th February 1995 in Coral Springs, a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. Her father’s name is Scott Thompson & mother’s name is Judy Thompson. She has two brothers who are also professional golfers. Nicholas Thompson who plays on the PGA and Korn Ferry Tours & Curtis Thompson plays on the Korn Ferry Tour. As per her interview in September 2012 she was home-schooled and becomes a graduate a few months earlier.
Career
She becomes a professional golfer on 16th June 2010 & signed a deal with sports equipment manufacturing company “Cobra Golf” & Energy drink company “Red Bull”. In the same year, she played the Women’s Open golf tournament in France “ The Evian Championship” & becomes seventy-four in the “THe women’s World Golf Ranking with earnings of $ 314,842 (Rs 2.34 Cr) at the year-end.
She played her first LPGA tournament in 2011 at the “The Airbus LPGA Classic” where she was tied for the lead with, South Korean female professional golfer “Song-Hee Kim”.In September 2011 she won her first LPGA tournament “The Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic” by a five-stroke margin over LPGA Tour rookie over American Professional golfer Tiffany Joh. On 17th December 2011, she won “The Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic” which made her the youngest professional winner on the LET at age 16 years & 10 months.
In 2014 she achieved her fourth career LPGA win and first major championship at “The 2014 “Kraft Nabisco Championship” & the win made her the second-youngest women’s major winner at the time. Next year in 2015 she wins at the Women’s Professional Golf tournament in Michigan “ The Meijer LPGA Classic” & her sixth career winning at “The LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship” in Incheon South Korea. She becomes in the 5th position on the money list with earnings of $ 1,763,904 (Rs 13.15 Cr).
In 2016 she won her next LPGA tour win at the “Honda LPGA Thailand” & she wins her first tournament win at the “The World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup” On the LPGA Tour of Japan. She Starts her 2017 season with the “Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic” where she shot a 61 (−12) in the second round And the tournament was won by the American Professional golfer Brittany Lincicome.
In 2018 she won the CME Group Tour Championship with an 18-under total giving her a four-shot victory over American Professional golfer Nelly Korda. She won the amount of $ 500,000 (Rs 3.72 Cr).
