2016: Junior Level Competition
He has taken his training at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, & has shown his talent as a player since a very young age.In 2014, he won the Swiss Junior International & also won the bronze medal at the Junior Asian Championship 2016 after losing to Sun Feixiang 12–21, 16–21.
2017 Number One World Ranking
He started the season at Syed Modi International & where he lost in the pre-quarters to compatriot Sourabh Verma 14–21, 16–21. After that, he became the number one junior singles player in the BWF World Junior ranking in February 2017.
2018 Youth Olympics
Lakshya then played at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics & won the silver medal in the boys’ singles after losing to Chinese player Li Shifeng in straight games 15–21, 19. He then also won the bronze medal at the BWF Junior World Championships after losing to the Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the semi-finals 22–20, 16–21, 13–21.

2022 Commonwealth Gold
He was part of the Indian men’s team in the 2022 Thomas Cup & there his team won the Thomas Cup by beating Indonesia 3–0, against Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
