Who is Jason Lee?

He is an American actor, producer, writer, photographer and former professional skateboarder who played Earl Hickey in the television comedy series “My Name Is Earl”. For his performance in the series, he was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV series in 2005 and 2006 by “The Golden Globes”.

A former professional skateboarder, he is the co-founder and co-owner of Stereo Skateboards, founding the company in 1992 with skateboarder Chris “Dune” Pastras. Since 1992, Stereo manufactures and distributes skateboard decks, equipment and apparel, as well as produces skate videos.

Early Life

He was born in Santa Ana,  the second-most populous city and the county seat of Orange County, California. He was born on April 25th April 1970. His father, Greg Lee was a car dealership manager and his mother, Carol Lee, was a homemaker. He studied at Ocean View High School.

Career

He was a professional skateboarder in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 1992, he founded “Stereo Sound Agency”. It was also known as Stereo Skateboards, with fellow skater Chris “Dune” Pastras. 

In August 2012, he participated in the ninth annual Stand-Up for Skateparks Event, which he chaired with an American professional skateboarder Tony Hawk. 

He later worked with Tony Hawk when he lent his voice and likeness to Tony Hawk’s Project 8 to become a playable character. Outside of his work with Kevin Smith, he has booked leading roles in many additional films. 

In 2005, he was offered the lead role in the American television sitcom “My Name Is Earl”. According to interviews on the first-season DVD, he passed on the series twice before finally agreeing to read for the pilot. In the series, he stars as Earl Hickey.

He received two Golden Globe nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy in 2006 and 2007, as well as a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006.

As of December 2011, Lee appeared in the American television sitcom “Up All Night” but after its second season. In June 2013, the American live-action/computer-animated family musical comedy film” The Road Chip”, a fourth instalment of the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise, was announced by 20th Century Fox; its release date was December 18th, 2015.

Personal life

He married actress and photographer Carmen Llywelyn in 1995. They got separated in 2001. After his divorce became engaged to actress Beth Jean Riesgraf. Together, they have a son named Pilot Inspektor.

He married Ceren Alkaç, a native of Turkey, in California in July 2008. A month later, Alkaç gave birth to a daughter named Casper. Their second child, a son named Sonny, who was born in 2012 & Their third child, a daughter named Alberta ‘Birdy’ Lee, was born in 2017.

He currently resides in Krum, Texas with his family. He also enjoys photography and is a co-owner of the restaurant Barley and Board.

In 2007, it was reported that he had purchased a home in Los Feliz, Los Angeles for $3.3 million (Rs 24.82) The residence spread over 2,205 square feet of living space, and it was originally constructed in 1948. The home also sits on a half-acre lot. In 2010, he sold this residence for $3.1 million (Rs 23.31 Cr).
