Who is Allyson Felix?

She is an American Track and field sprinter who is 2012 Olympic champion, three-time world champion (2005-2009) & two Time Olympic silver medalist (2004 & 2008). She is the only female track & field athlete to ever win six Olympic gold medals. She is tied with Jamaica Slovenian Track and field Sprinter Merlene Ottey as the most decorated female Olympian in Track and field history with nine Olympic  Medal in total. She ran the fastest split ever recorded by an American woman & the third-fastest split after former Czech former track and field athlete Jarmila Kratochvilova and German former track and field athlete Marita Koch. Her name was included in the “100 Most Influential People” of 2020 by the American Business Magazine  “Times magazine”.

She was born on 18th November 1985 in Los Angeles California in the United States. Her father’s name is Paul Felix who ordinated minister and professor of New Testament at The Master’s Seminary (TMS) in Sun Valley & mother Marlean  Felix, an Elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary.

She studied at Los Angeles Baptist High School (LAB) which is in North Hills, California. She started discovering her athletic talent in the 9th Grade after she tried out for track. At the Debrecen World Youth Championships in 2001, she achieved her first international title in the 100 meters. She becomes a graduate in 2003 and after that, she signed with the German Multinational shoes clothing and accessories manufacturer company “Adidas”.She becomes graduate with a degree in elementary education from the “ University of Southern California”.

Career

At the 2004 summer Olympics which was organised in Athens in Greece, she finished the tournament as a silver medalist only at the age of eighteen years old. She was part of the United State at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in The 4 × 100 metres relay team. They ran the fastest women’s sprint relay in twelve years. American sprinter Lauryn Williams, Muna Lee & Carmelita Jeter along with her finished in  41.58 seconds which makes them the eighth position on the all-time list.

During the 2017 IAAF World Championships, she won three medals which made her the most decorated athlete of World Championships history. She stands equal with Merlene Ottey & Jamaican retired sprinter Usain Bolt fourteen medal tally by winning a bronze medal in the 400m final.

In July 2019 she finished sixth in the 400-meter run at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. It was her first performance after she gave birth in 2018.The same beating by English sprinter Ashleigh Nelson & Scottish sprinter Beth Dobbin in  17.37 seconds. She competed in the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships where she won her 12th and 13th World Championship gold in Doha breaking the records of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt for the most golds by any athlete in history.

In a mixed-gender event of 4×400-meter relay event at the World Championships she along with American athlete Courtney Okolo, Michael Cherry to run a world time of 3:09.34. She won another gold as a runner in the preliminary heats for the women’s 4 × 400 metres relay although she was not selected for the final.

In June 2021 at the Olympics Trial for the “Tokyo Olympics 2021, she first took a sport in the 400 m Olympic relay pool by advancing into the final and then on 20th June. She qualified for the 400 m individual event by finished second with a time of  50.02 seconds, her fastest time since July 2017 and a masters athletics record of (35-40) age group.

Personal Life

She married American sprinter and hurdler Kenneth Ferguson & they have a daughter Camryn, who was born in 2018.
