Who is Kanye West?

He is an American rapper, singer-songwriter & record producer. The Atlanta born Chicago raised singer started receiving attention as a producer for “Roc-A-Fella Records”, an American Hip Hop record label founded by rapper Jay-Z, American entrepreneur Damon Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke in 1995.

He released his debut album “The College Dropout” in 2004 which was commercially successful and he founded record label company “GOOD Music”.His fifth album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” in 2007 & sixth album “Yeezus” 2013 both were Commercially successful.

His life outside of music has received huge media attention as well as his comments on music and fashion designing. Early Life

He was born on 8th June 1977 in Douglasville, Atlanta, the Capital and most populated city of Georgia in the United States. His father Ray West, is a former “Black Panther Party” for Self-Defense and was one of the first Black photojournalists at “The Atlanta Journal-Constitution”. His father, later on, became a Christian counsellor & his mother Dr Donda West was a professor of English at Clark Atlanta University.

He Attended Polaris School for Individual Education which is in Oak Lawn Illinois. At the age of ten, he moved with his mother to Nanjing, the Capital of ready-to-near Jiangsu, an eastern-central coastal area of the People’s Republic of China. According to his mother, near Jiangsu, He was the only foreign student in his class And gradually he made himself well settled in that environment and learned that language in a very short time. Due to the long gap, he has forgotten that language as time goes on. He Always passed the examination with  A’s and B’s grades.

He started writing poetry at a very early age. Along with the poetry, he started rapping in the third grade and started composing music at the 7th grade and gradually sold it to the other artists. When he was only thirteen years old, he wrote a rap song titled  “Green Eggs and Ham” and convinced his mother to arrange some time to find out the recording studio.

After he graduated from high school He received a scholarship to Attend The American Academy of Art College, which is a private art school located in Illinois, Chicago in  1997. After A short time, He transferred to Chicago State University (CSU) to study English. But Soon he realised that his busy study schedule gradually made use of care in his musical career. So he decided to drop out of his study and pursue his career in music at the age of twenty years old. 

Career

In 2000 for the first time, his turning point came as a Producer for Roc-A-Fella Records featuring artists including  Ludacris, Alicia Keys, and Janet Jackson. Next year in 2001 he worked with American singer and rapper Jay-Z’s Album “The Blueprint” which created a huge talent for him as a producer. His production generates many impressive talents including Beyonce, John Legend, Alicia Keys and Janet Jackson. But as his dream was to become a rapper, he tried his best to convince the head of Capitol Records to sign him to Roc-A-Fella Records.

In October 2002 he recorded the song “Through the Wire” which made the way for him for his debut album “The College Dropout”.Changing its release date several times, finally being released in February 2004. This album makes him eligible for ten Grammy Award nominations, and also certified triple platinum in the United States. His second album  “Late Registration” was released in August 2005.

He invested $ 2 million (Rs 14.85 Cr) to produce the album and hire a living orchestra. It’s sold over 2.3  million copies by the year and in the United States. His other notable album released including Graduation (2007), 808s & Heartbreak (2008), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), Watch the Throne (2011), Yeezus (2013), The Life of Pablo (2016), Ye (2018), and Jesus is King (2019).

His third studio album “Graduation” was released on 11th  September 2007. The album feature recording artist in a guest appearance including American soul singer Dwele, American rapper songwriter T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Mos Def, American record producer  DJ Premier an English singer and songwriter Chris Martin. It sold over 957,000 in its first week. 

After it has sold over five million copies in the United States it was certified quintuple Platinum by The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His sixth studio album “Yeezus” was released on 18th June 2013 under the Manhattan-based  American multinational record label company Def Jam Recordings & Roc-A-Fella Records. The album was released at the same time as American rapper J.Cole’s album  “Born Sinner”.

He has always been very passionate about fashion so he became the first non-athlete to make a deal with “Nike” with his 2009 Air Yeezys sneaker. Along with this has also been designed footwear with Louis Vuitton, Bape, and Giuseppe Zanotti. Apart from the shoe, he has released two clothing lines at Paris Fashion Week in 2011 and 2012.

In December 2013 Adidas officially announced that they have Collaborated on a deal with him. On 14th  February 2014  “Light Brown” was first released on the  Yeezy Boost 750 sneaker. As of  December 2017, a total of nineteen colours and six designs had been released with the Adidas and Yeezy sneaker collaboration. He Premiered the first session of his Yeezy clothing line with Adidas in 2015.

After achieving success with the earlier season Adidas makes a long time contract with him in June 2016. He earns 10% on net revenues from Adidas. He also earns a huge amount of Royalty through his website YeezySupply.com.

In June 2016 he released a video for the song “Famous” which is the leading single from his seventh studio album “The Life of Pablo”.The song receives critical acclamation along with the lyrical reference to American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. America rapper-singer Playboi Carti’s second studio album released  “Whole Lotta Red” on 25th December 2020. In this album, he served as an executive producer of the album.

On 7th March 2021 American rapper-singer CyHi da Prynce stated in an Interview with Vlad Lyubovny that he once again started working on his upcoming album with Kim Kardashian. On 17th July American rapper Consequence posted a video with Tyler, the Creator in the studio on Instagram.

He owns the company KW Foods LLC which is a fast-food chain in Chicago. He announced the establishment of a creative content company named DONDA in  January 2012. He is also a CO owner of the music streaming company  Tidal along with other shareholders including  Jay-Z, Rihanna, Madonna, Chris Martin, and Nicki Minaj. 

He has founded his self titled Foundation which works on the education of African American and Latino children. He has done community work for Hurricane Katrina relief for survival.

On 4th July 2020, he announced on Twitter that he would run away campaign for “The 2020 United States presidential election”. In an interview, he announced that his running mate would be Wyoming preacher Michelle Tidball and that he would run as an Independent under the “Birthday Party”.

On 15th July 2020 official Paperwork was completed with The Federal Election Commission (FEC). He started his first campaign on 19th July 2020 but he announced that he is preparing for drop out.
