She spent her childhood years training to become a ballerina as similar as her mother. She also attended the ballet school of the Latvian National Opera named Riga Choreography School and at age fourteen years old she started dancing with the Latvian National Ballet. When the dancer was seventeen years old she moved to New York City to dance with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Broadway Dance Center, and Martha Graham of Contemporary.
Later she attended Florida State University (FSU) and majored in dance and acting. During university life, she along with her friends became known as the FSU Cowgirls for attending Florida State Seminoles games dressed as cowgirls and dancing in the stands.
